MIR World Cup Finals is one of the best events to achieve a personal best due to cold air in November. It was a bit strange on that Friday to be wearing shorts in 70+ degree weather. Nonetheless Tim Grey was able to achieve a personal best, 9.797@140.40 in qualifying. Qualifying was supposed to continue into Saturday but eventually canceled due to rain. On Sunday morning Tim was in the middle of the pack heading into eliminations. Tim had to race the 14th car in position and won running a new personal best of 9.758@141.25.
The next round Tim only went faster running a 9.730@141.65 and also took the win. Coming up to the Quarter-Finals, Tim knew he had to tree his opponent in order to take the win. He mistakenly flicked on the red light with a -.013 reaction time and still put down a 9.810@141.83. In drag racing winning means the most but it’s also a great feeling knowing that you went faster. Congrats to TGR and team!
